With a name that means resurrection, it’s only fitting that Anastasia Elliot has become an expert at rising from the ashes of many almost unbelievable situations.
In the early years of her career Anastasia wrote a song titled “Crash Landing.” The song initially started like so many other songs do, a thought turning into words and melodies in the mind, then making its way onto a piece of paper.. She wasn’t quite sure what she was writing about but she knew it was special. 8 months later, the Southwest plane she was flying on crashed nose first into the runway at Laguardia, skid 2000 feet, and caught fire. This accident would inspire her to write over 200 songs as she sorted through the emotional fallout from the crash and ultimately create the ambitious 13 song visual album detailing the phases of trauma and healing she went through, La Petite Mort. La Petite Mort has resonated with people across the world gaining over 2.5 million streams and music video views across platforms.
Classically trained in opera and piano, Anastasia is on a mission to infuse her rock world with classical tendencies and help usher in the new era of progressive classical music. She has become a DIY expert in everything from music videos to photography, fashion design to social media content, and she creates wild experiences with her live show events that transport her fans into her visual world. Anastasia and her small team can take a tiny budget and make it appear as if she has the full force of a label behind her. She now produces, directs, and edits music videos for other artists as well and helps them bring their songs to life to develop their unique visual voice. Anastasia and her band are putting the finishing touches on a 7 song EP and have also begun writing their next full length visual album. The final 8 video installment for La Petite Mort will begin releasing in the coming weeks.
Her fans, which she affectionately calls The Purple Cult, aren’t just a group of people but rather a movement through which she hopes to inspire a creative revolution that will help people find their artistry and turn their mundane into something extraordinary.
